LACC Wayfinding

Getting lost at the Los Angeles City College (LACC) Student Services building is nearly impossible with our multi-floor way finding. We took inspiration from the campus’s Nike rainbow track and used bright floor graphics as pathways to the different services found in the building. Our ultimate goal was to lead students to the most popular and needed offices with ease, and without creating the traffic jam that results from a directory. The solution came in a durable and high-gloss material that withstands heavy foot traffic and the LA heat. Keeping the building’s entry open also allowed for the high-gloss graphics to glisten in the sunshine coming through the glass walls and add a pop of color all the way up the staircases.
