South Bay Hyundai
Our most recent client, South Bay Hyundai, entrusted us with the exciting task of designing a graphic wrap for their newest car — the fully electric Ioniq 5 — to be unveiled at the Redondo Beach Super Bowl Sunday 10K / 5K as a pace car. Having no template of the new vehicle presented unique challenges. We moved forward with the perspective of needing to create shapes that would be enhanced by additional definition; our design would complement the vehicle’s angles and dimensions wherever they met the graphic. Keeping with the client’s request for simplicity, our design took inspiration from the car itself, following the car’s geometric angles, clean lines, and almost cubic aesthetic. Bold, angled lines, and the fading of the cubic shapes were used to create an illusion of speed and motion. Cubes mimic the pixel-inspired lights of the car and subtly reinforce that this car is South Bay’s newest all-electric vehicle. We paired these elements with an electric blue, gray, and white color palette to finish off with a clean, polished look. Seeing the final result, we couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome.
